My Marine Vessel

In the DT project we did, my group and I chose to make a catamaran and make the main hull out of plastic and styro foam. To propel our boat, we chose to use wind by putting a sail on it. We chose to use a catamaran hull because we figured it would be less easy to capsize than a v-bottom boats it would have more or less equal weight on both sides. We wanted to make our hull out of plastic and styro foam because plastic floats better than wood or metal and styro foam would be for the two bits that go into the water and it floats well, making it a good idea. We chose to propel the boat by the wind because it would be a small bit dangerous to use an electric fan or motor in water and wind is also an abundant resource.
